Van Campers Make Great Choices For Couples

Many couples enjoy hitting the open road once in a while. Throwing caution to the wind, they pack up and head out in their RVs. But, for those who are unsure if they would enjoy the lifestyle, van campers are a great for trial runs and even for a more permanent fix to have a home away from home always at hand.

Van campers are simply nothing more than regular cargo vans that have be altered for the RV lifestyle. But, make no mistake, the alterations that go along with these things can be pretty impressive. Once they're done, it's hard to imagine what the original van must have looked like.

Some of the more common alterations made to make van campers road and overnight ready include a lot of customizations. Things such as sleeping quarters, dining, kitchen and even small bathroom facilities can all be added to these vans. Depending on the size chosen and the amount of extras, these can really turn out to be rather impressive mini-RVs. If create comforts are a concern, the fact is these models can provide them all, albeit on a small scale.

There are some advantages to going with van campers versus larger, more expensive RVs, especially for anyone who really isn’t sure if the camping and traveling bug has a hold of them. These include:

  • Good transition. Since van campers tend to fall right in between campers that are trailed behind a vehicle and larger RVs, they are a good starting or secondary step to give camping a try out while maintaining fairly luxurious quarters.
  • Pricing. Van campers tend to be a whole lot less expensive than full, drivable RVs, which can cost roughly what a small house might. Plus, if traveling is a common occurrence, these models generally pay for themselves in the amount of money saved from hotel stays and even eating out.
  • Multi-purpose. Van campers are a whole lot easier for many to justify financially in that they are still quite feasible to use on an everyday basis. Granted, they will cost more than the typical van to own, but they’re not so large as to prohibit driving to the store, work and so on.
  • Maneuvering. Van campers are just like regular cargo vans in size. This means they’re generally easier for people to drive, especially those who might be intimidated by a full-sized RV.
  • Fun. Van campers due to their size, pricing and ability to be used all the time can add a certain spice to life. The fact is it doesn’t take much to get these things ready for a trip, so spur-of-the-moment traveling is always on tap.

Van campers can be very good investments for those who like to travel, but don’t enjoy staying in hotels. Offering a more affordable option over the regular, full-sized RV, these vehicles are good starters or even finishers for singles, couples or small families. While the space inside van campers can be prohibitive for large families, the amount of at-home luxuries that can be packed into these things is amazing.
