Truck Camper
Models Present All Kinds Of Options
There's just
something
about getting back to the basics and exploring the great outdoors. It's
a great activity for singles, couples, families and friends. Whether
it’s mountainous terrain, life on a lake or some place a bit
warmer and sandier that calls, a truck camper is a great way to take it
all in without having to rough it completely.
Truck camper
models come
in several different styles. Technically, anything that can be towed
behind a pick up is a truck camper, but for our purposes, let's look at
those that meld to the back of the truck, fifth-wheels if you will. In
these models, the top of the camper fits into the bed either completely
or partially with an expanded living area being towed behind like a
trailer.
There are
several major perks to this style of truck camper. Let's look at them:
- Size variations.
This type of truck camper can range from rather small to quite
spacious. On the small end, these campers can actually be fully
contained within the truck bed and still offer sleeping quarters and
storage. On the larger end, these models can provide plenty of sleeping
space, a lavatory and even kitchen quarters. There are many choices in
between, too. Larger campers can sleep five or more people, while the
smaller ones are ideal for one to two.
- Portability.
This type of truck camper is fairly easy to hook up and tow. They are
also pretty easy to leave behind at camping locations, freeing up the
truck for in-town traveling and so on. This is a great option for those
that like to travel, but don’t wish to stay in hotels and
fear
towing a vehicle behind an RV. The flexibility of having both a
portable home and a vehicle along is the reason why many choose this
route.
- Affordability.
While there are truck campers that can cost a pretty penny, this option
is generally more affordable for most than a full-sized RV. These are
kind of the middle ground between a pop up and a RV. Despite their
“middle ground” status, these campers can be pretty
impressive. On the very scaled back end, these campers are generally no
more expensive, and often less, than pop ups and other similar models.
- Options.
Truck camper models come with many options. Those that fall in on the
larger end can have everything from closets to garden tubs and beyond.
This gives those interested in them a lot of flexibility to make the
camper as decked out (or not) as they want. Full kitchens with a sink,
stove and refrigerator are generally part of the mid to larger sized
models.
Truck
camper
models are great choices for everyone from the solo fisherman or hunter
that wants a place to stow equipment and catch a few winks to families
and friends who want the comforts of home while they’re
enjoying
the great outdoors. The many options available in truck camper models
make them a favorite for those who enjoy camping, traveling or both.
